How to use the mobile app

The mobile app helps users manage their spending efficiently by providing key features that streamline expense tracking and improve financial control. Its core benefits include:

  • Uploading receipts to simplify expense management and record-keeping.
  • Viewing the details of a virtual card for easy access to payment information.
  • Tracking purchases in real-time to stay updated on transactions instantly.

Note: The mobile app will only list the last 30 days of transactions. If you need to see transactions further in the past, you can log into the desktop version of Budgetly via budgetly.io/login 

 


Download the mobile app

The mobile app is supported on both Android and iOS mobile devices.

Logging into the mobile app

  1. Enter the email address used during your sign-up or the one your invitation was sent to.
  2. Then, enter your password.
  3. Click the Log in button.

Note: For security, the mobile app keeps users logged in for 30 days before requiring reauthentication.

 


Using the mobile app

The app has four sections: Budgets for managing funds, Cards for viewing and controlling your cards, Transactions for tracking spending and receipts, and More for accessing account settings.

Budgets

This is where you'll be able to see all of the budgets that you are a member of.

Tap the name of the budget to see more details, from there you can:
  • Request money.
  • See the cards currently spending from the budget.
  • See other members and owners of the budget.

Cards

Here you can see all of your cards. From here you can:

  • Swipe between your cards (if you have more than 1).
  • See the Current budget that a card is set to spend from.
  • Changing the current budget by tapping the name, and choosing another budget.
  • Freeze or cancel the card.
  • Order a new card (if this option is enabled on your account).

Transactions

This is where you can see all of your transactions. From here you can:

  • Tap a transaction to see more details.
  • Add a receipt to the transaction.
  • Add GST (manually).
  • Change the budget if the purchase was made on the wrong one.

  • Add a category, tags, and notes.

This is where you can see your account and profile information. Here you can:

  • Switch to another company (Budgetly) account.
  • View and edit your profile.
  • Disable MFA (if MFA is enabled on your profile).

Frequently asked questions

Why can't I see my transaction history in the app?

The mobile app displays transactions from the last 30 days. If you need to view older transactions, you can log into the desktop version of Budgetly at budgetly.io/login.

 

I forgot to upload a receipt, can I upload receipts for past transactions?

Yes, in the Transactions section, you can tap a transaction to view details, upload a receipt, manually add GST, change the assigned budget, and add categories, tags, and notes for better tracking.

 

Can I tap my card to pay directly from the mobile app?
No, you can't tap and pay directly from the (Budgetly) mobile app. To use tap-and-go payments, add your card to Apple Wallet or Google Wallet and pay using those apps.

 

What are the minimum system requirements for using the mobile app?

iPhone: The minimum requirement is iOS v13.4.

Android: The minimum requirement is Android 5.0.

 

How often is the mobile app updated, and do I need to do anything?

The app is updated semi-regularly to introduce new features, improve performance, and enhance security. Updates are available through the App Store (iOS) and Google Play Store (Android), and enabling automatic updates ensures you always have the latest version. Your data and settings remain unaffected, though you may need to log in again after major updates. If you experience any issues, try restarting the app or updating to the latest version, and contact Budgetly support if problems persist.
