Budget cycles

Our different budget cycle options and what they mean.

When setting up a new budget, you will be required to determine the budget cycle. This cycle determines how frequently the budget is replenished or reset.

Group 548

Cycle options include:

One-time

Please note: when a budget is set as one-time, it cannot be converted to a recurring budget (such as weekly or monthly) in the future.

This is a non-recurring budget. Users can spend until the allocated amount is depleted and it does not top-up automatically.

One-time budgets are ideal for single events or purchases, such as treating employees to a birthday lunch or organizing a corporate retreat. They provide a convenient way to allocate funds for these specific occasions and can only be replenished manually by an administrator.

Daily

Group 551

This is available for Premium accounts only. Read more about our plans here.

A daily budget can be set to reset or carry over (based on your preference) at 12am every day. This means that any remaining funds from the previous day will either be reset to the original allocated amount or carried over to the next day, allowing you to make the most of your budget.

Weekly

weekly

A weekly budget resets or carries over every Monday at 12am. Premium clients have the flexibility to select the day of the week for resetting. For example, you can have it reset every Wednesday or Saturday to better align with your budgeting preferences.

Fortnightly

Group 178

This is available for Premium accounts only. Read more about our plans here.

A fortnightly budget allows you to choose a specific weekday for it to reset or carry over at 12am. It starts from your chosen week and provides flexibility in managing your budget every two weeks.

Monthly

Our most commonly used frequency is monthly.

As a standard, it will reset or carry-over on the 1st day of every month at 12am.

For Premium users, similar to daily and fortnightly budgets, there is the option to choose a specific day of the month that best suits their preferences. This allows users to select the day of each month for their budget to reset or carry over.
