Your card spends from one budget at a time. You can switch budgets whenever you need to — the change takes effect immediately.
Switch on mobile
- Open the Budgetly app and tap Cards.
- Swipe to the card you want to update.
- Tap the budget name under Current budget.
- Pick a budget from the list.
Switch on desktop
- Log in to budgetly.io and click Cards in the sidebar.
- Select your card from the list.
- Click the budget name next to the card image under Current budget.
- Choose a budget from the list.
Note: If the budget you need isn’t listed, contact your admin — they can add you to the budget.
Common questions
Does switching budgets affect pending transactions?
No. Pending transactions stay on the original budget. Only new transactions use the new budget.
Can I be in more than one budget?
Yes. You can be a member of multiple budgets and switch between them as needed.
Can an admin switch my budget for me?
Yes. Admins can change any card’s budget from the Cards page. See How to change a card’s budget.
