GST is usually extracted automatically from uploaded receipts on Premium plans. If it wasn’t detected or is incorrect, you can add or correct it manually.
How to add GST manually
- Open Transactions in the sidebar (or the Transactions tab in the mobile app).
- Select the transaction that needs GST added.
- Choose the correct GST option from the GST dropdown (e.g. GST 10%).
- The total is split between the GST amount and the ex-GST amount automatically.
Tip: Changes save automatically — no need to click a separate save button.
Common questions
Does GST get extracted automatically?
On Premium plans, yes — Budgetly’s AI reads the GST from uploaded receipts. On Essentials, you need to add it manually. See Automated GST extraction.
Can I override the automatically extracted GST?
Yes. Edit the GST field on the transaction at any time. Your manual entry takes priority.
