5 things to know about security in Budgetly

Budgetly provides multi-factor authentication, single sign-on, and password management to keep your account secure. Here’s what you need to know.

1. Set up MFA

Choose between an authenticator app or SMS for your second verification step. MFA is mandatory for admins and optional for users.

2. Log in with MFA

After entering your password, enter the 6-digit code from your SMS or authenticator app to complete login.

3. Reset your password

Reset your password from the login page, or have an admin trigger a reset from your user detail page.

4. Set up Single Sign-on (SSO)

Enterprise plan customers can configure SSO with Microsoft Entra ID so their team logs in with Microsoft credentials.

5. Understand SSO login and access

Once SSO is enabled, users on enforced email domains must log in via Microsoft. Password + MFA is no longer available for those domains.

Common questions

Is MFA required for all users?
MFA is mandatory for admins. It’s optional for regular users unless your company enforces it.
Can I use both SSO and MFA?
If your email domain is SSO-enforced, you log in via Microsoft — MFA is handled by your identity provider. If your domain is not enforced, you use password + MFA.
I'm locked out. What do I do?
Try resetting your password from the login page. If SSO is the issue, contact another admin or Budgetly support — they can temporarily disable SSO.
