When you add or change Tracking Categories in Xero, they don’t sync to Budgetly automatically. You need to trigger a manual refresh.
How to update tags from Xero
- Click Settings in the sidebar, then select Xero.
- Choose Configure in the top right.
- Click Update at the bottom of the page.
Your Budgetly tags now reflect the latest Tracking Categories from Xero.
Common questions
Can I edit Xero-linked tags in Budgetly?
No. Tags pulled from Xero Tracking Categories can only be edited in Xero. Click Update in Budgetly to refresh after making changes.
Will updating remove tags I've already applied to transactions?
No. Existing tag assignments on transactions are preserved. The update only adds or renames tags to match Xero.
Do I need to be on Premium to use Xero tags?
Tags in Budgetly require Premium. However, the Xero Tracking Category mapping is available to all plans with the Xero integration.
