Users are the people in your organisation who access Budgetly — admins, cardholders, and accountants. Here’s everything you need to manage them.
1. Add a user
Add a user by entering their details and assigning a role — Admin, User, or Accountant.
Read the full guide: How to add a user.
2. Understand roles and permissions
Budgetly has three roles. Change a user’s role at any time and see the full permissions matrix.
| Role | Access level |
|---|---|
| Admin | Full — manage everything |
| User | Spend, view own data |
| Accountant | Read-only — transactions, statements, Xero |
Read the full guide: Understanding user roles and permissions.
3. Configure user preferences and security
Manage per-user settings like ATM access, notification preferences, and MFA from the user’s edit page.
Read the full guide: How to manage user preferences and security.
4. Reset a user’s password
Admins can trigger a password reset from the user’s detail page. The user completes the reset via email.
Read the full guide: How to reset a user’s password.
5. Make a user inactive
Remove access without deleting the user. Transaction history and logs are preserved.

6. Switch between company accounts
Users linked to multiple companies can switch without logging out.

7. Enable or disable ATM withdrawals
