How to reset a user's password

Admins can trigger a password reset for any user. The user receives a reset link via email to set a new password themselves.

How to reset a user’s password (admin)

  • Click Users in the sidebar.
  • Select the user who needs a password reset.
  • Click the menu in the top right of their detail page.
  • Choose Reset password.
  • Confirm when prompted.

The user receives an email with a reset link. Their current password continues to work until they complete the reset.

Note: Admins can’t set a new password directly — the user must complete the reset themselves via the email link.

Common questions

Can a user reset their own password?
Yes. Go to budgetly.io/login, enter the email, click Continue, then click the Reset password link above the password field. See How to reset your password.
How long is the reset link valid?
Reset links expire after 1 hour for security purposes.
The user didn't receive the reset email. What do I do?
Check their spam or junk folder. The email comes from info@budgetly.com.au. If it’s still not there, try triggering the reset again.
