Understanding action logs

Action logs provide a complete audit trail of everything that happens in your Budgetly account — user changes, card actions, budget updates, transaction edits, and more.


How to access action logs

  1. Click Action logs in the sidebar.
  2. By default, logs show the last 30 days of activity.

Filtering logs

Use the filters to narrow down the log entries:

  • Date range — select a start and end date to view logs for a specific period.
  • Type — filter by action type (e.g. card actions, budget changes, user updates).

What gets logged

Action logs capture:

  • User created, edited, or deactivated
  • Card issued, activated, frozen, unfrozen, or cancelled
  • Budget created, edited, paused, resumed, or archived
  • Transaction edited (category, tags, notes, GST, budget changes)
  • Bill created, approved, paid, or deleted
  • Xero sync events
  • Company settings changes
  • Login and security events

Who can see logs

  • Admins see all logs across the company.
  • Users see logs related to their own actions only.
