Xero FAQ

How do I sync my deposits to Xero?
In Xero, navigate to the Reconcile screen of the bank account you used to deposit money to Budgetly. Reconcile the deposit as a Transfer to the Budgetly account.
How do I disconnect from Xero?
Go to Settings > Xero > Configure > Disconnect from Xero. This does not remove synced data — you can reconnect at any time.
Do changes in Xero sync back to Budgetly?
No. Changes made to transactions in Xero are not reflected in Budgetly. Similarly, changes made in Budgetly after a transaction has been synced are not pushed to Xero. Edit transactions before syncing for the most accurate data.
How do I reconcile transactions synced to Xero?
You can mark individual transactions as reconciled in Xero, or download a CSV for Xero statement from Budgetly and import it. See How to sync transactions to Xero.
How does the sync work?
You can sync manually (review-then-sync) or set it to automated. Only settled transactions with a category can be synced. Receipts are attached automatically. See How to configure Xero sync settings.
Can I sync to multiple Xero organisations?
No. One Budgetly company connects to one Xero organisation. If you run multiple businesses, set up separate Budgetly companies for each.
How is GST handled?
On Premium plans, GST is automatically extracted from uploaded receipts. You can also enter GST manually. When synced to Xero, the GST amount is included on the transaction line. See Understanding receipt checks and GST extraction.
What should I do after updating my Chart of Accounts in Xero?

What should I do after modifying Tracking Categories in Xero?
Go to Settings > Xero > Configure, check the correct tracking categories are mapped, and click Update. See How to update tags from Xero.
