Inbox FAQs
The inbox is a section in the Budgetly app (web and mobile) where you can see receipts, money requests, and approval-related messages. It replaces most one-off emails with real-time, actionable prompts.
All plans include the inbox feature.
No. The inbox is available by default for all users on all plans. You will receive messages when they apply to you, such as after a transaction or when an approval request is assigned to you. On mobile, ensure you have the latest version of the Budgetly app installed.
Push notifications alert you on your phone when something important needs your attention, such as a pending approval or a missed receipt reminder. Tapping a push notification opens the inbox or the relevant screen in the app.
Messages will still appear in your inbox.
Messages are marked as read when you tap or click the call-to-action button in the app. You can also mark them as read manually. Future updates will include auto-resolving when the related action is completed.
Not yet. Inbox messages are based on your role and permissions. Admins will not see user-only messages, and users will not see approvals they are not involved in.
Not yet. In this release, messages are one-way and action-driven. Interactive features such as comments and task assignment are planned for future phases.
Inbox messages are stored for 45 days from creation. They remain visible in your inbox during that time, even if read. After 45 days, they are automatically removed to keep the inbox relevant and lightweight.
