Setting your password

Whether you were just invited to Budgetly, forgot your password or simply want to change it for added security - this guide will take you through it.

Setting your password for the first time

When you are invited or added to Budgetly by an Admin, you will receive an email to activate your account. This email will take you through to Budgetly to set a password, which you will then be prompted to log in with. Below you will find step-by-step guides for setting a password on your mobile device or on your computer.

Resetting a forgotten password

This process is very similar to setting your password for the first time.

We have two guides for resetting a password: 

One for admins and one for users.

Step-by-step guide: mobile app

1. Go to your phone's email app (Gmail, Outlook, Mail, etc)
2. Open the email invitation from Budgetly.
3. Tap Activate your account - this will open the Budgetly mobile app.
4. Enter your password - this must have at least one capital letter, number and special character and should be a minimum of 6 characters long.
5. Enter your password again - make sure it matches.
6. Tick the box to accept the Budgetly terms of service.
   
7. Tap Set your password.
8. Log in with your email and password.

Step-by-step guide: Budgetly.io

1. Go to your email client.
2. Open the email from Budgetly.
   
3. Click Activate your account - this will open Budgetly.io in your web browser.
   
4. Enter your password - this must have at least one capital letter, number and special character and should be a minimum of 6 characters long.
5. Enter your password again - make sure it matches.
6. Tick the box to accept the Budgetly terms of service.
   
7. Click Set your password.
8. Log in with your email and password!
